I just purchased a Sony RDRGX315 and even when recording in the HQ mode it looks like it either doesn't record all the frames or drops some when playing back from the recorded disk. I'm using the front s-video input.
I haven't found anything in the setup that would help.
Does anyone know what could be causing the jittery playback and/or what could be done to eliminate it?
    Thanks for any help.

    Nope. I'm recording from a Dish Network 811 rec'vr.
I was using the s-video output/input thinking the pic quality would be better than from composite.

Someone who knows more about it than me may be along soon to help!

Try it to see if it eliminates the problem as you are feeding the dvdr a different signal. But it may of course be something else like a faulty unit!

Update - For some reason the jitters are only when the Progressive Scan feature on the RDRGX315 is turned on. When I turn it off the jitters disappear. My tv is a Toshiba 42h83 which i believe has a 540p native display. I'm using the Component connection. Is the problem in the upconvertion going from 480p to the 540p?
