    I think I may panic.

Well, no matter which way the patients take the news, they won't be disappointed either way right?

    Love that story!

But the only pronunciation for Jesus, as used as a common name, that I've heard is [hey- zeus,] so I don't understand the confusion.

That's if you speak Spanish (or if you wish to use the hispanic form) - but lots of folks don't, in which case the English pronunciation is the common form.

Same thing with the name 'Angel'. How do you pronounce it? Most folks use the English variant, and a few use the hispanic.

    Cheers!

My wife has an Uncle Jesus, but she calls him Uncle Jess, and says "Hey-heus" for the full name. I'd say that almost 100% of people from the UK or Australia would say "Jesus'
Let's face it, the Americans are only speaking a language similar to English, aren't they?

I've never understood why anyone would name their child Jesus, Mohamed or Elvis. Even if it's a family name, they're just asking for trouble, IMHO.

I've never been in a hospital where the nurses were referred to by their names. It's always, "Your nurse will be here shortly." or "Nurse, give him an an enema."

I've never stuck around a hospital long enough to hear the word 'enema' myself . . .

    LOL!

I know people who go by Jesus (Gee-Zus), but people look at them odd because of the Old English adage that it's sacreligious. However, Swedes don't normally pronounce J as an H sound when they read it aloud. Have some co-workers here like that. Boy do they mess up spanish words. Being in Vegas you get several laughs a day. Jalapeno is a favored one of mine. Jah-lap-ee-no
