Video output on Philips is jagged steps going down from left, top to right bottom - i.e. unplayable. Fine in VLC, of course. File is:
I deinterlaced an avi, cropped it to size below and passed through mp3 audio [?] high quali [No qpel] and high Scaling method/ME function in Options with mencoder mpeg4 at 1444 kbit/s. New file loaded in ffmpegX shows:
From: AVI;
Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 640x336, 29.97 fps;
Audio: mp3, 8000 Hz, 192 kb/s.
Info pane yields:
VIDEO: [XVID] 640x336 24bpp 29.970fps 1443.9kbps (176.3kbyte/s)
[above line repeated]
audiocodec: framecopy (format=55 chans=2 rate=48000 bits=0 bps=24000 sample-576)
What did I do wrong?
What settings can I reencode the NEW [old one tossed] file to satisfy Philips?

If you search this forum you'll find that those of us with Divx players have found that only the Xvid options work with our players. I use the Xvid ffmpeg option with an Avayon 1000. Just don't encode with Qpel or GMC.
