My question is regarding VOB files, as I am new to this I wasn't sure exactly what section to post this into so I am posting it here. If someone can let me know which would be the proper one to post in that would be great.

I have a set of VOB files for a DVD that I want to copy, however, they are over 7GB in size. Is it possible to put these onto one DVD±R/W disc that isn't a Dual Layer or do I have to use a Dual Layer to burn it?

Either the disc must be dual layer or use DVD Shrink to compress to 4.37GB so you can fit them onto one disc.

Welcome to the forums and this forum is fine for your question.

You can go several ways when your DVD file is about 7GB. You can use a program like DVDShrink and transcode it to fit a 4.37GB single layer DVD. Or you can re-encode it with a program like DVDRebuilder. Or if you want the same quality as the original, you can use DVD Decrypter and burn it to a double layer DVD. ISO READ>ISO WRITE. This is assuming you have the rest of the DVD, not just the VOBs.

If you have just the VOBs you will need to generate the IFO, etc. files necessary to the DVD format. For the format see 'What is' DVD to the upper left. <<<<<<

IFOEdit can recreate the rest of the missing files. You should also be able to do it with a authoring program like TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Thanks for the help. I tried both burning it to a DL and a single layer using DVD Shrink. Both worked. Much appreciated.
