Disk error can not play this

I downloaded a avi and it plays fine , i then used convertodvd to make the dvd files on my drive and burn it to a dvd. But for some reason I keep getting this meesage when inserting it inmy dvd player

DISK ERROR: playback feature may not be available on this disk


now I can watch it on my computer with no problem and even tried using other tools to reburn it , but it always says the same thing.
any ideas for me to check on?

I tried that, it failed all so . I figured it out.

The convertodvd was not converting the avi properly.
I converted it with TMPGEnc-DVD Source Creator to mpeg first then used converttodvd for the dvd part and it worked..

Wonder why?
