  1. Well, I learned my lesson. Don't buy DVDs on Ebay without intense research on the seller. I just got a bootleg of Romeo Must Die. The thing "looks" official; however, its not encrypted, doesn't have Macrovision, and its region 0. I sent the money to California, but it came from Singapore.

To my question. I cannot find a way to disable subtitles. In PowerDVD XP, I uncheck "Display Subtitles." They still appear. You can change subtitles to Malay or something else, but you cannot turn them off completly. I've done some searching on deja.com and found that many people say, "the subtitles are apart of the picture and therefore cannot be turned off." Well, if that were the case, you wouldn't be able to switch subtitle languages. Furthermore, if I rip the DVD and turn on stream processing and uncheck all modes of subtitles, PowerDVD does not show subtitles. If I use WinDVD and turn it on file mode, and open up the VOB files off the DVD disc, no subtitles appear. But I don't like WinDVD. This whole deal is a software problem and can be solved.

    HELP!
