  1. After using DVDFabencrypter, I get DVDShrink opened, open files, it finds them, then gives an error that DVDShrink has encountered a problem and needs to close. I uninstalled DVDShrink, reinstalled fresh and still get this error. Anyone seen this before.

This is not the first movie I have shrunk with this program. It's just happening now and I can't figure out what's causing the problem. Is there something else I could use that is as good as this program?

Oh and I searched this error but all the ones I found dealt with other problems.

  2. Be sure you have the latest version of DVDFabDecrypter as earlier versions have had problems with DVDShrink.

  3. I just downloaded that file cause the other one I used is not available or so it says here. I was using DVDdecryptor. The version I have is 2.9.8.1. is that the newest?

I've had similar issues in the past. I usually delete all of the temp (ripped) files, then run dvdfabdecryptor / dvd decryptor again.

I haven't used shrink since dual layer media has become affordable but doesn't it store a reference file someplace about all the video files loaded into shrink since it was installed?

    Maybe this is causing problems?

  6. Thanks for the responses. I will check those temp files and check the other reference files too. Will let you know if doing those things helped.

  7. Here's another thought.
    Just grab RipIt4Me - http://www.ripit4me.org/index.html
Run it - make sure it is satisfied you have the latest DVDDeCryptor and FixVTS - and go!

    Try using FixVTS after Fabdecrypter.

  9. Well, I downloaded DVDShrink again. Then found my original of DVDdecryptor and installed those again. This time I didn't get any error messages from DVDShrink and was able to decrypt and shrink, then burn the movie backup. So, I think it was DVDFabdecryptor causng the original problems. I'm back to backing up my dvds. I use these like most people do, the ripped and burned copies to keep the originals stored away from dirty, little/big fingers and the usually, "let's see how good it slides acros the rug" kids. LOL
