    I updated the firmware and it has stopped reading discs. This is highly upsetting and frustrating. I've tried a number of things(changed power cords, going to clean the lens, going to see if changing the IDE Master/slave thing will work) hopefully somebody can tell me of a quick fix for this basically brand new drive(purchased just before christmas)

    Can you go to the Liteon page and revert back to it's original firmware?

    i fixed it there was a staple inside the burner
