    Been reading lots of reviews about Nero 7 Premium. They all claim it can do 5.1. Dolby. I found a demo and installed it but can't find 5.1 DOlby. 5.1 yes, Dolby, no.
    Am I blind and or stupid?

    How does it do 5.1 without using Dolby ?

    I believe it does need a plugin to encode AC3, probably due to licensing restrictions from Dolby.

    5.1 is Dolby. Obviously you are not blind so maybe only ....? I just saved you on 1 doctor's visit. One more to go...

    In SoundBox it is 5.1 WAV or MP3.
    No Dolby output.

    If you set it to 5.1 "whatever" do you get a sepatate sound file (with or without ac3 tag?)?
    Play the short test output in PowerDVD and enable on-screen information (right click on the screen - menu). It will tell you exactly what's beeing played.
