    Okay, so I used this program...and sat around for hours upon hours waiting for it to get done. I needed a much quicker solution to what I was trying to do (basically, converting avi's to svcd mpeg formats, and then making them dvd compliant to use burn on a dvd). So using TMPG, I converted my files to svcd mpeg format. At this point I would use SVCD2DVD and wait about 3-4hrs for it to finish. I found though, if I use the TMPG Mpeg tools, I could split the mpeg file I created, and convert all the audio files to 48k using DBPowerAmp. I then take the split video file, and my newly converted audio files, and put them into DVDLab pro, and shaved about 2 hours of time.

    I don't mean any disrespect (as this is my first post) to the makers of SVCD2DVD, but gee...it's a bit of a joke.

    I assume then that you did not try version 2.1 where any SVCD to DVD conversion takes a matter of minutes plus you could have taken your orignal avi assets and created a DVD from them without the need to convert to SVCD first...

    Unless you have the slowest computer on the planet, nothing takes 4 hours with SVCD2DVD v2+
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

    Was just going to suggest skipping useless steps and going for like DVDsanta or something.
    Also, why not ask about the issue than just assume and rant about it.You call this software junk, yet you dont even know you could be skipping steps by using a totally different app.So it isnt the apps problem, it is yours for not knowing a clue about encoding.

    Try searching next time.Like um..... AVI to DVD !!!!

    *Sorry for that rant, but geez.

    Thanks for nothing. I followed all the steps that were available at the time when I using the program. In fact, DVDSanta is great if I was simply converting from avi to dvd, which in fact I'm not. I suggest you read a little next time before deciding to post about something you may or may not have a clue to.

    Thank you ChrissyBoy I haven't tried the program in months since I've discovered my work around. I did like what the program did at the time (and yes I was using a much slower computer then). Thanks again!

    So what exactly was the point of this thread at this particular time with such a provocative title?
