So has anyone been able to try this product yet? It claims to encode in SVCD and DVD quality MPEG2. My question is, how is the end result? How about fast scenes. How close to professional is this thing anyway?

Hi
I am using this product and I get good results with it. Easy to use and for the price you pay I'll say it's worth it.

Stelios,
Do you have any clips I can see? I am interested in SVCD and VCD quality as well.
PS: ELLAS!

I too would like to hear some feedback from users who have this device? are you able to create mpeg files at VCD and SVCD bit rates and burn them with out re-encoding them?
are you satisfied with the results? -
I stopped in to see if anyone had an opinion on this product as well. However, I ordered it in spite of no opinions posted as of yet. Mine ADS USB Instant DVD should be arriving any day. I'll check back and post my opinions very soon.

I have had one of these units for about 2 months. The only two devices that I have captured from are my VCR which has good vcd quality and great dvd quality for video - audio wasnt that good, and my Sony handicam which is horrible! Everything in the picture has fuzz around it. The ADS capture software is decent. The packaged U-lead studio 6 is pretty nice if you have a horse of a pc to make editing confortable. All around, I think I would have bought a decent capture card and used TMPGEnc for encodeing. IMHO
