  1. What's a good dvd player? My price limit would be about 180 or so. I want a player that can with no problems play DVD, VCD, and SVCD. What do you guys recommend?

I've been using the pioneer dvd333 It has a great picture and has played all dvds vcds cd-rs and cd-rws I've put in it it also plays svcd xvcd and a few other formats. I am very happy with this player. I tried sony and found it was noisy and did not play vcds. my folks have a sony and it won't play vcds that play in my pioneer. Hope this helps. take a look at the dvd player list on the left side of the screen you will find that the dvd333 has the best rating out there.

  4. I have a Sony DVP-S560D and I bought it for $249 last year. I see the price has dropped down to $179 now. It can play ANYTHING and I highly recommend it to you.
