I have a Sanyo DVR 500. It's wired up to the video 1 record loop of my HK 325 receiver using the s-video & rca audio plugs. My sat is wired to the video 3 loop using the s-video & optical audio connections.
When I record shows, the audio is 'watery' & the dialogue very hard to hear. I think this is because the HK doesn't convert digital audio to analogue correctly, hence the zone 2 audio can't be digital since it would take another processor to convert digital to analogue.
I've taken the analogue audio out from the sat & ran it straight to the DVD recorder & this works, but now I can only record from the sat, unless I hook the other source up to the front inputs.
I was thinking of a Philips 61153 automatic video switcher http://ostg.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=9652663. Is this the best way? How does everyone else do it?
Thanks.
