Any realy noticable differences between quality of caputure between DV capture software????
I know some advantages/disadvantages are CPU usage, batch capture and all of that, but is there any difference in QUALITY.
Right now i'm just trying to decide between capturing with Sony Vegas 6.0 or ScenealyzerLive 4.0 and am just wondering if my final decision will have any impact on quality.
Thanks!

For DV capture-transfer, they all rely on DirectShow to do the work. The image quality should be the same for all or if it isn't, somebody is decoding the stream (a no no).
Cheap scene detection is done from metadata in the DV stream indicating camcorder record start and stop frames. This works well enough for camcorder material.
Scenalyzer's claim to fame is scene detection from image ("optical") detection. I presume this adds CPU activity.
DVIO just transfers and has minimal CPU impact. WinDV and most others decode the stream for video monitoring purposes but pass the stream to the capture file unprocessed.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
