Hello, complete newbie to this so bear with me.
I have a Grundig gdv 220 dvd player (i think this is where the problem is). I have burned a few vcd's i think correctly using nero 5.5
I have just tried converting my avi file to mpeg 1 file with tmpgce (or whatever it is).
My dvd player is saying "no disk"
Looking on the dvd players that can play vcd's on this site in the compatibility list, there is no mention of my player, but all grundigs that are mentioned do play them apparently.
Are there any particular obvious things to look out for.
Thanks
Paul

Just because a DVD player will play VCD's doesn't mean that it will play homemade VCD's on a CDR. Not all DVD players will play CDR's or CDRW's. Your DVD player may only play pressed VCD's, which look like store bought CD's (i.e. all silver). You may want to experiment with different brands of CDR's and see if you can get one of them to work.

My DvD player loves those cheap Digital Media CD-Rs that have nothing on them ... ALL silver. It gives me the "No Disc" error when I try to play any other name brand.
