Went to convert a avi to dvd and didn't save the source (1st mistake)...
I had checked the avi and it seemed fine for sync which was why I made mistake 1.
later I went to convert to Mpeg2, after extracting audio to wave file, TMPGEnc Xpress converted fine, apparently. Checked the file by playing it and towards the end it was was out of sync despite being fine earlier on...
Said hmmm... Converted again, same thing. Tried DVD Santa & CCE Basic, both crashed, big clue.
End result corrupt avi at approx 17 minute mark. So I took the Mpeg2 used VideoReDo to split at the bad point used it's audio sync tool to adjust the audio and then took the two separate mpegs to use for authoring.
So if I use Vdub to repair will that keep the audio sync next time? I must be having a senior moment because I could not figure out how to use vdub to repair.
Many Thanks
