  1. Hi,
I have been making dvd's out of avi files for sometime now without any issues. I usually use vso's convertxtodvd. Now when I burn the dvd it won't play in the dvd player. It actually crashes the dvd player and i have to unplug it to get the movie out. It plays fine on my pc through powerdvd but not through nero show time. In show time all i get is a grey screen. The only thing i recently changed was that I upgraded to a newer version of convertxtodvd. I used to have divxto dvd. I have tried going back to the older version but i still get the same problem. This used to work fine before. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I haven't changed anything else. Blank media is the same as is everything else. I need some help because i don't want to make any coasters. Thanks!

There is tons of other software that can convert to DVD format. Try TMPGenc or MPEG Video Wizard.

Of course there is but I think the point is that he used to be able to play his cinverted AVI to DVDs on his DVD player and now can not.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

All-in-one software usually reacts like this. It does not follow all the rules of the DVD-Video spec, and odds things happen. I'm not surprised. For better results, you need to encode, authoring and burn separately, not rely on a magic piece of software that barely works.

    Maybe harsh, but the truth.
