  1. This is my 1st dvd rip (so my kids don't mess up the real ones!) I have about 7.5 gigs now cuz I got rid of all the crap I didn't need, just kept the movie. I only have 4.3 gig disks, is there a way to get it to fit? Also, there's 9 vob files, but the last numbered one seems to fit in the middle somewhere, do I just rename 'em so they go in order for when I burn them? Also, do I have to convert it to avi, then back again or just burn it as dvd video? thanks

    Hi,

Download dvdshrink and open the folder where your dvd was ripped to. Now select full backup and and it will size it to fit your disc. Then burn both the audio_ts and video_ts as the main root directories.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Thanks, what about that 1 lone vob that seems to be the middle of the movie but is at the end numerically? Also, when I right click on the vob files and open it with powerdvd, they all play fine, when I open it to open the whole folder like I usually do and it's supossed to do auto play, it wants to me enter my name and password, then it won't play.

Don't worry about any of the file numberings (and leave them alone) - it's the IFOs that tell your player (hardware or software) when to play what and from where so that you get seamless playback. DVDShrink will be able to work it all out for you. Don't forget to remove all unnecessary audio and subtitle streams so that you can maximise the quality of your video. I must say that 7.5GB sounds rather large IMHO for Main Movie only
    If in doubt, Google it.
