Guys, I have a standalone sony digital amp(STR-DE675) been running my hi-fi vcr and sony DVD player through it, getting the best from it i.e. digital dolby and DTS depending on the disk, and I made the fatal mistake of lending to friend. He was unable to get it to play any of the above features when he hooked his phillips DVD up to it
only played in normal pro logic(his DVD supported all above features, and tried everything)). When I plugged my equipment back into I have the same problem and it wont play any dolby digital(sound effects) from the amp anymore
, even though dolby digital displays in the DVD display?I've tried clearing the memory via the instruction manual: no good!
I am aware that there is a techie code that can reset all parameters back to fac. defaults, does anyone know what it may be or a sight similar to VCDhelp that could help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance
    Cheers
    Dave

Ahhh, the legendary codes of Sony crop up once again.
My Sony TV is stuck in 16:9 format, good, but it is a 4:3 TV: The picture is only psuedo widescreen so I am stuck with a squashed picture.
Now, it has been fixed once before by a Sony engineer when under guarantee, but now it is out of guarantee, the SOB's want some ridiculous amount of money so a guy can come round and put in a few numbers into the remote to reset the stupid thing. F*** that: I just live with it.
If your amp is new, take it back to the shop if it is under guarantee. Other than that, good luck. The only other reason is if your friend messed with the settings.
Trying to get Sony Codes is like trying to extract chickens teeth.
