replacing audio streams

I'm trying to extract a dts soundtrack from an older movie I backed up years ago and put it into a newer backup the earlier backup was made with shrink so it was a movie only with alot of compression is there any way to extract and insert it the only problem is the older was a dts only release and I only have the newer release is this even a possible scenario? thanks

IFOEdit - look in the tools section at the guides for this program There are guides for replacing audio streams. Not explicity DTS, but the idea is the same.
