    I apologize, I didn't know which forum to post this topic in.

    I have a series of shows on my computer and lately my playback has been messed up. I have no clue as to why, I have switched many programs and tried countless codecs trying to solve the problem. The problem is that when I go to play any of the 21 videos which are all about 157mb 21min each, of which there are 5 compatible video codecs and 4 compatible audio codecs, it will play anywhere from 1 to 8 sec of it then just quit video and keep going on audio. Any suggestions with this problem are very much appreciated.

    Try using GRAPHEDT on the file, then post what the graph looks like (see the sticky notes for how to upload a screenshot). Post a screenshot of your GSpot output too. THEN we can see where the conflict is.

    While the audio looks a bit odd, it shouldn't be the problem. More likely, there's multiple codecs fighting over the decoding "rights".

    I have an XVID file, and my graph basically says

    file --> AVI SPliter -> (V) FFDShow VIdeo -> Video Renderer
    \--> (A) FFDShow Audio -> Audio Renderer

    I'd try uninstall DIVX5, and go into FFDShow's Decoder and turn on support for DIVX, and see if that helps.
