Hi
for strange reasons I've decided that I would like to put a TV card into my PC - situated in a spare bedroom that's now "my room"! I would like to be able to view digital tv including "freeview" channels (I'm in the UK). As important I would like to be able to record on to my hardrive for future editing and transfer to dvd. I also don't want to spend a fortune! I've got a nearby arial point that is part of my house arialing - there's an amplifier on the circuit and I know from TV use that the picture quality / reception is great.
Can anyone give me some inexpensive suggestions please?
I'm sorry if I've posted this to the wrong forum but I guess that a moderator will move it if I have.
Ta very much.

It depends what you mean by "I also don't want to spend a fortune!"? Over the air HDTV cards are about $150US and up.
DVICO is one of the cheaper brands.
If you look to the left for 'Capture Cards', you can plug in your requirements and get a few cards that may do what you want. Being in the UK, you would want to pick a card that would work with the formats and systems used there.
For regular TV, the Hauppauge cards work well and capture directly to MPEG format, so they are convenient.
Or if you are really short on cash, the AVerMedia cards are inexpensive, but at a lower quality and not as versatile as the Hauppauge.
