I did search this forum and didn't really find an answer.
I have a fairly standard SVCD and want to convert to Xvid . I have done this several times using different settings . So far the best was using Xvid memcorder. It's fine in fact quality is good. It is however much shorter in screen size then the SVCD. In fact not much more then the middle third of the screen. The SVCD only has small black border top and bottom. The SVCD is standard: 480x480 , 2470 kbits , 29.97FPS, 789.31 MB in size. I was aiming for 350mb size for the Xvid. I used 624x352 , 1054 video & 128 audio =1054 kbits(most of the Xvids I have are in this size range and play well in my Phillips 642 DVD ). Also tried 544x304 , 941 video kbits pretty much equal in looks. So any ideas for fuller size video? I'm wanting the 350MB size so 2 vids fit on a cd. thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. It turned out great! Also want to thank you for providing us with ffmpegX . Works great and with it and Mac OSX I no longer need my PC!
