Here's what I'm doing - after decrypting a commericial DVD I own, I run AutoGK on the vob files I want - that gets me an AVI file. Then I make a few changes and run that AVI file through TMPG while using the sharpening/noise reduction filters for my own little "remastering job." Finally I take the outputed MPEG and put it in a DVD authoring program whereby I create a simple menu and burn it to a DVD-R to be able to watch on my regular DVD player.

^^^Okay, so I like this process and it's gets what I want done completed....HOWEVER, in the process I'm losing the original 5.1 or multi-channel sound mix.

I'd like to be able to keep the process nearly the same but also have the final mpeg and/or burned DVD-R featuring the 5.1/multi-channel surround sound as well. If doing so increases the file size, that's fine.

How would I go about doing this?

Use DVD Decrypter to rip the audio then import into your authoring prog.

So demux the audio to ac3 in DVD Decrypter and then add the ac3 to the video within the authoring program?

Will any authoring program mux & burn the two correctly so that the sounds plays perfectly on DVD or will only certain authoring programs do so?

And if so - which can I use?

I'd prefer to use DVDStyler - will that do it?
