I'm about to give up. I tried initially using DVD shrink to open my not too new MTV pilates, and it gave me the error, even with DVD region kill, and DVD Region CSS free running in the background. dvd rom is panasonic UJ 811 (i don't know anything about flashing firmware and I rather not mess with that).

I've tried using dvdfab decrypter to rip and have dvdshrink to open and it still won't work.

So i tried using IMG Tools to just make an image file and the result iso file won't work (tried using daemon tools to mount it on a virtual drive and won't play after 5 sec).

Anything else I can try? Please?

The latest dvdfab decrypter should be able to rip most everything. You may have been using an old version. DVD Shrink can still open most stuff, for everything that it can't I use dvdfab.

  3. You never mention Region Code in your message, but since that is the subject I presume you are getting some sort of indication that there is a problem with the region code. Am I warm??

Have you ever played a DVD on this drive? If not, then the initial region code has not been set. Play the DVD and set the region code to 1 when prompted.

If you can play the DVD on this drive with no problem, then what precisely is the error message you get when ripping?

If you cannot play the DVD on this drive, can you play the DVD on a standalone player? If not, your "not too new" DVD may be defective.
