Start by analysing the file in G-Spot to determine what type of file it is. Then you can look up "X to DVD conversion" (where X is your filetype) in the guides section and/or the tools section.

Also, to maintain a decent quality you'll probably have to use 3 SL DVD+r disks.

thanks for the reply so I used gspot like u said and this is what it said.................This is, or appears to be, an unsupported filetype. GSpot provides full support for AVI and OGG media streams. Based on its composition, GSpot believes the filetype to be "ASF (.WMA/.WMV)".....................so i'm still lost because nothing seems to lead me to any anwsers i'm very confused this is all new to me

  4. I prefer AVICodec to check video properties.
Use TMPGEnc to convert WMV to MPEG-2,Sonic MyDVD and NeroVision Express also support WMV.

Media Center uses a new file format called DVR-MS. DVR-MS creates an MPEG-2 file that includes metadata about the recorded program to be stored.

There is info out there I believe on conversions & tools, various media center edition fan sites I've stumbled across. Also try searching the forums here for the file type, or just try using it as any other mpg2 & see what happens.
