    Hi,
    Sorry for my noobness.
But I cant seems to find my answers so the need to post in forum.
    I'm gonna ask a question,
To author a video is to convert it to mpeg2 format and then author it?
Cos I always use winAVI or convertxtodvd straight away convert to .vob format and burn to disc. Now I wanna burn some anime so the need to know to author them in thier original .avi format or convert them to mpeg format or can I author them in .vob format?
So sorry for a stupid question but I seriously cant find my answers.
    Thanks!

To 'author' is to create the DVD format from a MPEG-2 video. It does not create or encode the video, just formats it into a DVD.

Look to the upper left for 'What is' DVD for the DVD format information. <<<<<<

To create the MPG-2 video from a AVI or other format is 'encoding'. These are generally 2 separate operations.

If you look to the left, there are guides for both. <<<<<< AUTHOR and CONVERT.

The first sentence answers all my question already. Haha!
    Thanks man...
So that means I would need to get my .rmvb files to mpeg-2 so that I could author it. Am I right to say that?

Correct. You might look at SUPER for Real Video conversions. And there are a few other programs that can do this.

Make sure your converted (Encoded) video is DVD compliant. That's why I directed you to 'What is' DVD so you might see the specification for the video and audio that's needed.

After you have done the conversion, you author it to DVD.
