Probably too late for this response, but NO!
It has a lot of good features, but it's an unreliable piece of crap. I recieved one as an xmas present (person who gave it to me's getting coal next year). The first one kept turning itself off in the middle of playback, then you have to turn it back on, then wait an eternity for it to actually turn on, then wait 10 friggin minutes for it to scan the dvd-r before it'll figure out what it is and let you press play, then you have to try to skip back to where you were (and hope that it doesn't shut off again in the process). Then the stupid thing screwed up the clock when it shut itself off and froze up and had to be unplugged every time i tried to re-set the clock. I took that one back and got a replacement, now the replacement is doing the turning itself off mid-playback crap too.
