Hello!
I have just started to use my recently purchased DVD Recorder from Samsung the DVD-R119. I am new in the Recorder world. I for the first time deleted a 20 minutes title on a DVD-RW disc recorded in Video mode. The disc had 20 minutes of free space left and was recorded in LP Rec-mode(4 hrs). When I deleted this 20 minutes Title I expected the remaining recordable time to increase to 40 minutes. But it did not. The info for the disc still shows 20 minutes left.
Is it supposed to be like this?
Am I doing something wrong?
If so then VCR's do have an advantage in this since you can just record over a previously recorded show!.

The time will only go up if the title being deleted is the last title when recorded in video mode. In VR mode it should go up wherever the title is.
