I am working on a dvd, and in the special features section i want to include a "listen to the soundtrack" option. I was wondering if there was a pre-built way or a script/plugin i could install to encore to possible serve as a music file player. If anyone else has done this before, please let me know. I have been reading the documentation but havent been able to find anything like that.

You're limited by the DVD spec itself, rather then Encore or any authoring prog. Including audio is fine, as long as it's in one of the DVD acceptable formats -- just add audio compilation, or do a title with slideshow or whatever in place of video track.
If you're aiming for PC only or optional playback, then can also try to use something like the retail DVDs with autostart added PC-only player & content. -
Have you seen this on any commercial DVD's?
Would you want the audio to play on a blank screen??
I'm lost.. -
i would want to build a GUI for it and make a media player type device. (something that lists the song name and lets you scroll over to it)

If PC added content outside of DVD layout several possibilities -- check out autorun prog etc., or even html.
If you want your DVD player to do it, design a menu page that looks like a player where song name is a link.
