    Hello guys.

I have a couple of MKV files that has WMV3 on their video stream (says MKVExtract GUI). I tried to rip the video stream using MKVExtract GUI and it produced an AVI file. SInce I wanted to add subs, I now went to VirtualDub to hardcode it, but VirtualDub shows this error: "VideoSourceAVI error: The source format is not acceptable (error code -2) Thinking that MKVExtract might've caused it, I tried to rip the video stream using VirtualDub MOD, but it only shows 3 streams (1 for the sub and 2 for the audio) contrary to MKVExtract which has 4 as shown in this comparison:

    Any ideas?

can you play the extracted avi(with wmv3) with media player? then you could use avisynth to import it in virtualdub, see https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=284288

VirtualDubMod doesn't list the video stream under streams. Should be no problem opening the mkv in VirtualDubMod since it is using VfW for the video. Just make sure that you have WMV9 VCM installed or ffdshow enabled to handle WMV3 via VfW.

Double click the streams you want to disable.

CPU usage should only hit 100% if you are re-encoding.
