Hello, besides DVD shrink, are there other programs that do what DVD Shrink does?

I think DVD2One does what dvdshrink does (as well as Nero Recode), but for better quality when higher compression is needed, try DVD-Rebuilder (dvd-rb).

Nero Recode is somewhat an updated version of DVD Shrink (basically the author of DVD Shrink went to work for Nero and now develops Nero Recode).
DVD2One, DVD Recode, CloneDVD, DVD Rebuilder with CCE. -
Rejig is also a transcoder, although not as pretty as Shrink. None of the others do as good a job for the same price. DVD Rebuilder (free version) can produce much better quality using the HCenc or Quenc encoders, but only the pro version can reauthor a disc like Shrink does.
I still use Shrink to reauthor or shave a couple of % off the top. For anything it's Rebuilder with CCE.Read my blog here.

The cool thing about DVDshrink is that it can re-encode straight from a DVD whereas most of the others cant and 'legal' programs like Nero Recode will never be able to.

I like DVD Shrink far better than Nero Recode. Recode forces you to use a wizard interface, and I dislike it's choices for compression methods, and it's lack of ability to region-free or decrypt CSS or remove macrovision.
Basically they gave up all those features so they could instead give you an added option to create a Nero Digital Disc which won't be compatible in most players.
Shrink used to have a bad rap for video quality. But ever since the high quality error compensation modes were added it's been pretty sweet.
DVD Rebuilder might get better quality using CCE but you'll more than quadruple how long it takes to compress. It also takes you some initial setup time and experiments to get everything working. I guess I'm different than most people here in that I like the quality Shrink produced on many movies better than the same one encoded with Rebuilder using CCE.
The place DVD Rebuilder shines though is on older movies, were the source was pretty poor quality to begin with. Using this tool you can customize your AVS file to load filters to correct coloration problems, mosquito noise, halos, blocking, etc. -

Thanks for all the replies. I am having trouble with DVD shrink. I am using the AnyDVD 5.8XX and when I try to use shrink to backup some DVDs I bought like "Venom" or "The Yards" it says invalid file structure? This never happened. I guess DVD shrink is showing its age.

Shrinks age isn't the what's causing your particular issue.
When using AnyDVD you should disable all of Shrink's file I/O settings by going to the edit menu, choosing preferences, and checking out the stuff on the last tab.
If you're still getting the error your problem is most likely caused by AnyDVD or perhaps you have a scratched disc. -
I never rip with DVD Shrink. Too slow and puts more strain on the burner than is necessary. If you have AnyDVD, rip with DVD Decrypter to your HDD, then process with Shrink. If you don't have anyDVD, use PGCEdit with the PSL2 plugin and DVD Decrypter.
