  1. I have tried to downconvert a 720p and a hi-res xvid to a regular aspect ratio xvid (my Philips 642 will not play either) and have had no luck. AutoGK just errors--it says it can't find the file specified after it finishes with the audio conversion, and I don't know any other way to do it. Can anyone please tell me how to do it?

    Thanks

  2. By the way, I have the same file in two different formats. Neither works on my Philips. I could not find it in the lower aspect ratio format that will work for my player. Gspot shows that the 720p xvid is 1280x720 aspect ratio at 4305 kbps. The hi-res xvid is 960x544 at 1948 kbps. I don't know if it's the size of the video image or the bitrate that's causing the problem....but anything anyone can tell me to convert this would be appreciated.

Most Dvix/Xvid DVD players will not accept resolutions greater than 720x480. Does yours?

  4. No, it does not. I am hoping to find a way to downconvert it to around 620x350 and/or around 1100 kbps.

Use VirtualDub and the resize filter.
