    y do some dvds take 2hrs to rip yet some the same size only 30mins? is it a hardware problem?

  2. Could you give some examples, i.e. the titles of some slow-ripping discs? Also, which ripper are you using? (By any chance is it DVDFabDecrypter?)

    house of flying daggers [r2] this took 2hrs and crashes 10mins from the end of the movie. creep [r2] this crashes constantly b4 the menus come on. 2hrs 20mins. the bodyguard. 2hrs. dint bother doing it. Im using a 1.8ghz athlon laptop. 512ddr, 40gb hd with a 8x usb dvd burner by freecom. A friend ripped house of flying daggers for me on his new desktop which hasn't as much ram and ripped it in 17mins?????? i burn at 4x. use dvdshrink 2 rip and nero burning rom to burn. havn't updated firmware as i dont know what id be doing

    every dvdrom/dvd burner has different read speeds. the dvd burner you have may only be able to read at slower speeds. most new dvdroms have faster read speeds and there are dvdroms that can use hacked firmware to speed up the reading process.
