    ok, I have a movie file that I'm splitting in 2. and I have a .srt-file I'd like to split with it. can anyone walk me thru how to do this? is there a prog that can do this automatically? I did it manually for kill bill 1 but it was only for the japanese dialouge so it didn't take long. but doing a whole movie's worth of talk by hand, forget it.

    Movie file? Is it an avi?

    Pretty sure that AVIMuxGUI will split an internal srt stream when you split the avi. For external subs, split the avi, then use Subtitle Workshop to split the srt.
