  1. Hi
Tried several ways managed to write dual layer dvd BUT on playbback they lockout at the layer switch point. I can skip this point with next chapter search but obviously that is not acceptable - could it be a media problem method as follows

1 Pinnacle9+ capture to form dvd base

2 dvd author (tmpeg) to mak film base (menus)

3 dvdshrink to make iso of dvd film files from the audio_ts and
    video_ts folders

4 used dvddecrypter to write the iso file

    samsung ts-h552u writer
    rw rivision dvd+r dl media

    now frustrated

  2. Crap burner i would say. if you want to write dual layer then get an NEC or plextor. I just started burning dual layer and after an initial problem everything is working is okay. NEC 3550A can be had for like 40-50 bucks. Also i would just buy Verbatim DVD+R DL, stay away from other brands. Follow this advice and id bet you would save yourself a lot of wasted time and headaches. Also use imgburn to burn , not dvddecrypter.

    Definately missing.

As for media, pretty much every post regarding Dual Layer problems recommend Verbatim MKM media above all other media for DL work. A quick search would have given you that.
