I have a minidv disc that has six scene selections in the menu.
There is one part of the disc (the fifth selection scene)that I cannot view or copy because of a bad vob file: VTS_01_1.vob
This file will not copy from the disc and DVDshrink will not do a complete analysis because of it. The analysis freezes at the last 30 seconds. Through the menu, I am able to see the other scenes that are before and after the corrupt scene. Is there a way to fix this file? Or is there a way to retrieve the footage from the disc around the corrupt scene. I really don't want to lose the whole disc as a lost because of one bad scene. Thanks.

ISObuster is a good program for damaged file extraction. DVDDecrypter can also work from a damaged DVD file. If the damage is extensive, then you may have problems.

This info was given to me from another video forum. This worked out fine. Fixed everything without losing anything. Thanks for you assistance as well.

You could try VOB Blanker, here:

Select your input and output files, hit Process and it should blank out the bad VOB.
