encore dvd problem

i have soms episodes of my favourite tvshow and i wanted to input them in encore dvd but i failed. It siad that i had to had a avifile with a 720x576 format. Is there anyway that i can just input the file without having this error?
If its not possible please tell me how to make my episode in the right size.

There are specs on std video sizes for DVD -- if you don't follow them, DVD player won't understand or play properly. http://www.thedigitalbits.com/officialfaq.htm

Either process the video first, or use authoring prog that will do the work for you.
