    I took the cover off my TBC-3000 to see if there is anything adjustable in there. There isn't. But I took a couple of pics to post in case anyone is interested.

    I bought it used anyway, so the freshness was questionable But it was clean inside.

    BTW, let us know how your AG-1980 turns out. I just won one myself.

    Congrats....
    It'll be awhile before i visit Chicago to pick it up..Canadian delivery kills me, so i pick up purchases at the in-laws..

    Seems like the opinions vary on the 1960-70-80 models...
    As far as i can see, the 1960-70 models were made with more heavier and quality parts, but depending on the batch model you received, you could be quite disheartened. For the most part, the 1980 improved on circuitry (ram is cheaper these days i guess), but cheaped out on the hardware..

    This parallels the opinions on the newer JVC models..Again, many people happier with the good ol' days of sturdier parts...

    Yeah, but I read an old review where they said the image quality was better on the 1980 than the 1970. Hope so. I should get mine next week.
