Does anyone know if the WinTV PVR-500 has to have two seperate cable boxes in order to operate the watch one channel while recording another funtion?

edDV it can do two Composite or S-Video all 500 come with PCI A/V Cable Set
As for the Analog TVout on Cable box that eazy just matter flipping channel on one box to 3 the other on 4 and 2-way splitter/combiner or the rigth diplexer also you should beware that not all reg 2-Way splitter are Bi-Directional -
all 500 come with PCI A/V Cable Set
I ordered two PVR-500's from the same place, at different times.

Well I can't help you with that problem reboot but one that order from hauppauge whitebox do.

analog cable = no
I currently tune two sat. boxes with a wintv500 (svideo and composite audio) and usb-uirt. works great.
Ordered from www.pcalchemy.com and it came with header/cable set for 2nd inputs.
