    antonnin, welcome to the forum.
I looked at your profile - I believe that 256mb of memory is a little tight for video editing. However, that will just slow you down. I would recommend at least 512mb with 1 gig even better.
On to the problem. You may try configuring the WINAVI app in the "Program Compatability Wizard" to Windows 2000 Compatability Mode and Disable Visual Themes. I have seen several apps that are having problems running after the installation of SP2 and the latest MS updates. This usually fixes the problem. If you need more help let us know.

I'm assuming those address numbers you gave are just for illustration and not actual addresses.

What type of files are you converting? If it does it with all files, then the problem sounds like the conversion program, not the OS. I would go to the WinAVI site and check if they have a forum and ask them. You could also reinstall the program and see if that helps.

Have you tried different programs? I'm not a fan of WinAVI, but there are a lot of programs that do the same things. DivxToDVD is one. Others are DIKO, TheFilmMachine and DVD2SVCD.

The better method is to use individual tools instead of the all-in-ones if you want the best quality and the most control of the process. I rarely use all-in-ones unless I don't care about the quality or am in a hurry.

Is that the actual error message? Because those numbers are important, and right now that message makes no sense.

Well, how big of a HD do you have, and how much free space do you have, and how big is your swap file (i.e. virtual memory)?

I don't mean to be crass, but I believe that if you paid for this software, then you are fully entitled to utilise their support - support@winavi.com is the email address AFAIK.
    If in doubt, Google it.

i had the same problem. i disabled all my spyware and antivirus software prior to using; and it worked fine. just remember to enable it when you have completed your project. oh, also disable your screen saver. hope this works for you.
