hi i recently downloaded two movies but for some reason the audio for both is playing out of sync on divx.
The first movie i have ran through gspot and it seems it is not a codec issue as it says i have the proper codecs installed, iit is a xvid movie and is using (0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3) audio, the sync on this is out by at least 5 seconds.
The second again i have ran through gspot and it is not a codec issue it is using the same audio as above but the video source is div3.
I wonder if anyone could suggest a program i could use to resync these movies, i have been told virtualdubmod is quite good put as im new to this i wouldnt know where to start, so if someone could post a guide on what to do or a link i would be most grateful.

Well, IMO, most DL'ed AVIs are crap - I'm glad if they play at all - surprised if it's possible to reencode to some other format...

Sync problems are quite common with those types of files. If it's out of sync an even amount throughout the video, VirtualDub Mod would work to change the audio/video offset. If it gradually drifts out of sync, then the audio or video are not the same length and they would have to be changed to match.
There are two tools which might help, SyncView and Hypercube Time Stretcher. Otherwise, it's mostly trial and error. Drop the files into VDMod and see what it says about them.
There are many posts on sync problems. If you do a forum search, you may find a method you can use.
