  1. Hello all,

After I search I can't find really any dvd recorders with component input.

I would like to record at better quality then the s-video of course.

Also is that possible to record dolby digital sound ? I would love to have a good quality video with nice sound, of course. I just need some of the movie for my collection.

What kind of dvd recorder would be that ?

    Thanks in advance

My old Philips DVDR985 has component inputs....but have yet to see a recorder that will record to 5.1.
AC3 2.0 is standard for most recorders I've looked at.

In 2003 they announced one that would record in 5.1 but since then i have never seen one for sale or heard anything else about them

Even more intriguing is Philips’ upcoming DVDR90 (not shown at CES), due out in Q3 at a targeted $999 price point. Retaining the same feature base, this higher-end model will introduce Dolby Digital 5.1 audio recording, a welcome addition in light of the increasing 5.1 content broadcast by digital cable and satellite providers.

I figured by now they would be all over and alot cheaper than $999 but i still have to find one for sale
