  1. I've been using Easy VCD to rip my DVD's. It makes the files 777mb, too large to fit on a 700mb cd-r. I found a program called DVD Rip N' Burn that'll make the 777mb mpg files fit on a 700mb cd-r. That's been working fine, but I got a new computer with a faster CD burner and the DVD Rip N' Burn program will no longer recognize my new CD-R drive.

My question is, is there any other freeware programs out there that'll burn a 777mb mpg file onto a 700mb CD-R?

A 777mb mpg should fit on 700mb cdr if you burn in vcd/svcd mode, read https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/135642.php

Author the mpg with vcdeasy (the ooold free version should be enough).

  3. I use windows to burn data CD's and Real One Player to burn music CD's. Neither of them do I have the option of choosing vcd/svcd mode. They just say the file is too big to fit onto the CD-R.

What program should I use for burning?

  5. Oh, old version. I skipped it before because it wasn't free. I didn't know about the old version. Thanks I'll give it a shot.

  6. Is there an easy how-to walk through for vcdeasy?

The thing I liked about Easy VCD was that it really was easy. Just one button, nothing to figure or calculate. You put in a DVD and out pop's a mpg file. And DVD Rip N' Burn was the same way, pick the file and hit burn.

  7. Why do they call that vcdeasy? If anyone wants easy use Easy VCD. Really just one button and it works. Thanks but I'm sticking with Easy VCD.
