I've been using Easy VCD to rip my DVD's. It makes the files 777mb, too large to fit on a 700mb cd-r. I found a program called DVD Rip N' Burn that'll make the 777mb mpg files fit on a 700mb cd-r. That's been working fine, but I got a new computer with a faster CD burner and the DVD Rip N' Burn program will no longer recognize my new CD-R drive.
My question is, is there any other freeware programs out there that'll burn a 777mb mpg file onto a 700mb CD-R?

A 777mb mpg should fit on 700mb cdr if you burn in vcd/svcd mode, read https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/135642.php
Author the mpg with vcdeasy (the ooold free version should be enough). -
I use windows to burn data CD's and Real One Player to burn music CD's. Neither of them do I have the option of choosing vcd/svcd mode. They just say the file is too big to fit onto the CD-R.
What program should I use for burning? -
Oh, old version. I skipped it before because it wasn't free. I didn't know about the old version. Thanks I'll give it a shot.

If in doubt, Google it.
