  1. After trying to get my divx files onto DVD unsucessfully i've discovered that my DVD recorder can play Divx files (I knew I should have read the manual) My question is, does Nero burn divx files onto a CD? Because it sure won't burn them onto a DVD! I don't really want to stuff up any more disks (can't get RW ones in my town)

Burn them as data CD or data DVD, and it should be okay.

And it won't be called VCD... VCD is a very specific standard involving MPEG-1 video.

  3. thanks, I burned them as a data CD and popped it into my DVD recorder/player and it said "unknown disk type" I checked the manual and it says it does accept CD-R's (audio, jpeg and mp3) and it also says it accepts a DivX Disc (DivX 3.11, 4.x, 5.x)
Anyone know of what I should try now??

    Did you "finalize" the CD-R?

Nero will burn them to DVD as a data disc. You need to spend some serious time reading your software help files/manuals.

  9. sorry, I burned them as a Data DVD, not a Data CD, it seems as though it just didn't like the CD.
