Do you guys know if it is possible to use more than one iPod on the same system?

What i would be after is to be able to have 2 separate playlist as the 2 people who have the iPods both have different taste in music

Use musikcube or winamp with the ipod plug-in.

I originally thought that you could make separate playlists within iTunes, but over Christmas, the iPods locked themselves from iTunes (or vice-versa), but we got around it using the above methods.

Just tell iTunes not to update/sync with your ipod then it wont try to duplicate each other you can hook up one or the other and do what ever you want
You can still add or remove playlists just as you did before the ipod just wont automatically sync

    should be in the preferences
when your ipod is connected goto preference in itunes then look under the ipod menu and choose update manually
(at least that is how it works on my mac)
Your ipod must be connected before you can see this option

    or

set up 2 user accounts on your computer.

    goto control panel
and double click on user accounts

after doing so set iTunes(from each account) to have a seperate iTunes folder(i recommend the,"my music" folder of each account.

That will work just fine he just needs to point each ipod account to a different folder that was the second suggestion I gave him he just has to use the appropriate account for the approriate ipod then
