  1. After trying SimpleDivx and AutoGK I decided to check out some of the non-free offerings - I was disappointed. Maybe I haven't found that super-dooper dvd2divx utility that would be worth paying for - where/what are they?

In all honesty, I've tried most of them too and I keep coming back to AutoGK, although AVI.NET seems to be making rapid improvements with every new version/revision.

Is it so bad that freeware solutions are the best ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

Anybody that feels compelled to give money can take advantage of the donation systems. I think pretty much anybody that does freeware or free info sites accepts donations, to keep everything up and running and updated.

    Just a thought.

  4. My four cents:

1.) Nothing beats AutoGK for easy and quality.

2.) Free tools seem to be better because they are created by people who see a need and want a great tool for themselves and others. They are not in it just to make a buck.

Money's tight in this day and age, but try to drop a couple of $. Its a great way to say THANKS and keep up the work!
For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!
