Hi... I have gotten my hands on a music video (*.WMV) that is using Theres Codecs: Windows Media Video V9 for Video and Windows Media Audio V7 for Audio. It plays fine in Windows Media Player 9.0 (and is also where I got the codec information from)

This WMV file does not play in any other player or converter and I want to burn this onto a CD or DVD as DivX, XVid or DVD or whatever that my Pioneer DV-380s player can play... so...

I have downloaded the WMV V9 VCM from Microsoft but that didn't help.

How do I get this file to be converted to anythign else?

When playing in Classic Media Player it's just black.. no errors though.

    What do I need?
    Thanx/

STOIK Video Converter. You can easily convert it to AVI, which is far more compatible.

Hi, STOIK did not work (1.1 or 2.0). What happens is that when I press the record button I get a Waiting cursor for about 10 seconds and end up getting an AVI file created where I selected the output but it's just one second long and is black and no audio. Still no error s though...

When I play the WMV file in Windows Media Player I can't jump in it. That gives me indication on that it's a buffer/stream thingy but then again the file is 216 Mb... and a streamed file should be downloaded while playing so that doesn't make sence to me.

    Any Ideas?
    Thanx/

Are you sure it finished though, and what codecs did you pick for AVI?

I just converted a WMV9 video to AVI the other day with STOIK 1.0 and had no problems, but it could be dependent on some other things.
