As some of you know, my updated guide is currently not available on VCDhelp because of bandwidth, but with the help of willynopal, there is a new domain which contains my guide, that will be as updated as possible, and it is located here:
http://www.sefy.help4u.org
This way you won't be limited by my 56k modem at home, and hopefully the guide will be hosted on more places so it won't generate alot of traffic on one page.
Also, for those of you who want guides for additional programs let me know here, and if you have any suggestions or ideas on what to change on my guide, let me know!

I got some bad news and some good news.
BAD NEWS
All the links on the Guide v1.6 appear to be bad, but only on the pages, if you use the Menu bar everything will work great and you will be able to access everything.
GOOD NEWS
I've been working on v1.7 of the Guide for the past 5 hours and I believe I managed to fix all the incorrect links, the guide now uses PNG files, and it's less then half the size of the all the other guides which means it should also load faster! it will be released either later to day or by the weekend.

More good news! I got confirmation from labDV's webmaster that he is willing to host my guide as well, so that would make your job easier to access the guide if one site appears too slow for you.
The Guide should show up in the next few days, i'll keep you all posted.
Side Notes:
I've opened this post so it would also be easier for you guys to ask me questions on the forum in case I missed a post you made and asked for my assistance, and I would like some comments about the guide, i'm doing it for you, not for me, and I need to know if you like it, or you want some changes.

Thanks dude! please let me know if you find any bugs in the guide, or if something doesn't work properly, I know that the menu still has a few glitches using Netscape 4, but atleast you can click on the links in the pages themselfs if the menu doesn't work.
Any ideas for new programs to add to the guide ? is there a ripping method I missed ? if you don't tell me, I won't know

Sefy why wont you add guides with encoders like CCE, LSX, or Panasonic Mpeg Ecoder or like that.....i might be able to make a guide for panasonic or LSX but im afraid that i might not have the time ill try this weekend but if i dont finish this week end expect it befroe December for all the people who need guides to use Panasonic or LSX
-
Basicly, I do have Panasonic Encoder Plugin in the Flask section, the reason I don't dwell on CCE/LSX and Panasonic is mostly because they are not free, I was planning on eventually adding them as well to the Flask, I don't see the point of using them with DVDx as it can encode by itself, and Flask can't.
Right now i'm working on the Premiere Video Server frameserving plugin, and I suppose eventually i'll add CCE and LSX, the problem with those two, is that you gotta do alot of settings, and I hate playing around with those
If you already got a guide ready, we can combine it with mine, will save alot of time you know!

that a great i dea Sefy tell me what i have too do, do i only write the guide for the conversion guide or the full guide??????
-
Well, I suggest that you write each step in a diffrent HTML and also save the Images as BMP, and when you are done, i'll look them over, try to do what your guide says step-by-step, and add each section to the correct one in my guide and re-save the BMP's as PNG so it would take less space.
And of course every thing you do you will get the credit, I don't take credit for something I didn't do, and it would be very helpful if someone joined in on the guide, maintining all of it alone isn't easy, not to mention new versions means new snapshots and editing all the correct HTML's, brrr... god I hate it
Anyway, write your guide, and when you are done, i'll open up an FTP for you and you can upload it to me so I can join it in with the rest of the guide, let me know if you are willing!

MORE GOOD NEWS!
Jim from labDV has agreed to host the guide, and it is now also available there in this address: http://www2.labdv.com/sefyguide/
I think 3 places hosting the same guide is enough for one person to keep updating
Again, if any of you got suggestions or remarks, please let me know!

Updates!
v1.8 of the guide is in progress, added VFAPI in the FrameServing, Xing / Panasonic and CCE in the Encoding, MenuGenerator in the Menus and restored VCDImagerGUI in the Imaging, and added NTI CD Maker 2000 Pro to the Burning.
I would like if you guys can check and see if there are any problems, or bad links and let me know, i'm hoping to finish it by the weekend, it all depends on you!
Again, if you want any other program covered, please let me know!

Your guide is cool and useful.
I just miss some info about creating svcd-s with subtitles or with multiple languages.
BTW keep up the good work! -
Sefy do you mind if i answer this one??? if you dont mind ill answer:
i dont think Sefy thinks that making a SVCD with selectable subtitles and multiple languages is not easy to a newbies point of view... I suggested that to Sefy to add a conversion guide to make SVCD with CCE but he told me people who make SVCD are not newbies anymore sooo that why Sefy didnt enclude subs and multiple languages and SVCD Creation..maybe someday Sefy might change his mind
-
Hi Radical, actually the new guide covers Subtitles and Menus and Chapters, and the only diffrence between making a VCD or a SVCD in that prespective, is just either using a diffrent template to encode, or changing the settings from VCD to SVCD, so that isn't the problem here
NOW! as for Multiple Language, well, if someone will tell me how to do it, and i'll be able to do it, then i'll add it to the guide, see the guide is from the point of view of a newbie, everything that I did in the guide worked for me in those steps, so I see that another newbie taking those steps should also be able to do it.
So if anyone volunters to teach me and tell me what software is required for a Multilanguage SuperVCD, i'll add it to the guide as soon as I manage to make one, cause if I can do it, so can you! -
Digital-Digest now also hosts v1.8 of the Guide, so you now got 3 Official Locations to access the guide, so don't cram up on a single webpage, we don't want traffic problems ;o)

For SVCD there's the bbmpeg mux, just mux in the extra audio track as AS2, for VCD you have to have two mono streams (at 192 I think), and mux them so left channel is one language, right channel is the second. The SVCD will only have selectable audio on a standalone, and you know how compatability can beVCD can only be multilanguage on a proper VCD player from what I've read, DVD players just output the audio streams at the same time. This is all from doom9 in his SVCD guides. Sorry if you already knew this.
